Crapr beta

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 6, 2026

Crapr helps people find usable restrooms quickly. This policy explains what information the beta app uses, what it stores, and what choices you have.

Quick Summary

  • Crapr can be used as a guest without creating an account.
  • Location is requested only when you use location-based search.
  • Crapr does not store your precise location history.
  • Crapr does not sell your personal information or location data.
  • Adding new restroom locations requires sign-in so beta data has accountability.

Information We Collect

When you use Crapr, the app may process your approximate or precise location in your browser so it can rank nearby restrooms. Location is used for search and ranking, not for building a history of where you have been.

If you submit a restroom report, save a place, or add a restroom, Crapr stores structured contribution data such as restroom ID, report type, poop rating, access status, crowd status, and submission time.

If you sign in with Google, authentication is handled through Supabase Auth. Crapr may receive basic account information such as your user ID and email address so your saved places and contributions can stay connected to your account.

What We Do Not Collect

  • We do not store precise location history.
  • We do not support photo uploads in this beta.
  • We do not collect free-text restroom reviews in the main app flow.
  • We do not sell personal information or location data.

How We Use Information

Crapr uses restroom and contribution data to rank locations, show confidence signals, update cleanliness/access status, support favorites, reduce spam, and improve beta data quality.

Reports may influence public restroom confidence, freshness, ratings, and risk indicators. Moderation tools may be used to flag or quarantine suspicious reports without deleting the historical record.

Guest Mode and Accounts

You can browse and search as a guest. Guests may use the app without logging in. Some write actions, such as adding a new restroom location, require signing in with Google so the beta database has basic accountability.

Account data is stored through Supabase. Google sign-in is used for authentication; Crapr does not receive your Google password.

Location Choices

Your browser controls whether Crapr can access your location. You can deny location access and use manual search areas instead. The app also includes approximate location mode, which reduces precision before ranking nearby options.

Third-Party Services

Crapr uses Supabase for database and authentication features. Crapr may use Google Maps and Google Places for map display and user-triggered live place lookup. These services process data according to their own terms and privacy policies.

Google Places calls are designed to be user-triggered and limited. Crapr does not use Google Places photos, reviews, routes, or background polling in this beta.

Data Retention

Beta contribution data may be kept while Crapr is being tested so restroom quality, confidence, and moderation decisions can be improved. If beta data is reset, old test data may be removed.

Your Choices

  • You can use guest mode for basic search.
  • You can deny browser location permission.
  • You can use approximate location mode.
  • You can sign out of your Crapr account at any time.
  • You can contact the Crapr owner to ask about removing account-linked beta data.

Children

Crapr is not designed to collect personal information from children. Some restroom locations may have age restrictions, and the app may show age-restriction indicators when known.

Changes

This policy may change as the beta becomes more complete. The updated date at the top of this page will change when the policy is updated.
